Principles of Arts, Audio/Video Technology, and Communications

The students will work on Ch. 4 which includes Lessons 11, 12, and 13. In Lesson 11, the students will use guides to position type, add point type, make a clipping mask and apply a shadow, create type on a path, warp point type, design paragraphs of type, add a rounded rectangle, add vertical text, learn about careers in printing technology, and develop new skills. In Lesson 12, the students will learn to prepare an image for the printer, finalize an image for printing, check and correct image problems, hexadecimal values for color, learn about color management, identify out of gamut colors, adjust color and tone, convert an image to CMYK, specify color management settings, proof an image, save an image as a CMYK eps file, print a CMYK image from Photoshop, print to a desktop inkjet printer, recognize printing issues, review color modes, learn about psychological effects of color, and explore printing technology. In Lesson 13, the students will learn to explore the 3D environment, position 3D elements, print a 3D file, export a 3D object, and use communication skills.

In Lesson 7, the students will use Photoshop tools, work with Color in Photoshop, work wit Tools and Tool Properties, explore Photoshop Panels, and create Career Search Documents. In Lesson 8, the students will develop a strategy for retouching, straighten and crop an image in Photoshop, adjust the Color and Tone, remove imperfections with the Spot Healing Brush tool, apply a Content-Aware Patch, repair areas with the Clone Stamp tool, sharpen the image, explore a brief history of photography, do a real world photo restoration. In Lesson 9, the students will evaluate a photograph, measure light, recognize camera settings, explore bracketing, aperture priority or shutter speed priority, how to use the Rules of Thirds, careers in photography, and explain Fair Use and Appropriation. In Lesson 10, the students will learn how to make digital repairs, create a Hoax, public domain and creative commons licensed images, history is full of revisions, how to make a layer mask, and create a graphic design portfolio.
